Hi, I'm Michael 👋

I build and ship apps end to end under my own studio, Rubiconetic — most recently Scanity, an ingredient scanner live on iOS and Android. On the automation side I've saved clients over $96K with 100+ n8n workflows.

Experience

  1. 2025 — Present Current

    Founder & Principal Engineer

    Rubiconetic

    • Independent software studio — I own every stage: product design, architecture, implementation, store release, and post-launch support.
    • Shipped Scanity to both the iOS App Store and Google Play: an ingredient scanner resolving additives through their E-numbers, trade names, and synonyms across 452,000+ products, built with Expo and React Native.
    • Built Scanity's data layer on USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts with nightly refreshes, and kept user data on-device rather than on a server.
    • Building MacroMeso, a diet and training engine pairing macro targets with mesocycle programming.
    • Run the studio's backend on a two-node K3s cluster managed entirely by GitOps: FluxCD reconciles from Git, SOPS + Age encrypt secrets safely into a public repo, and Longhorn handles distributed storage.
    • Built a split-horizon network — Cloudflare Tunnels expose only client-facing n8n webhooks with no open firewall ports, while Tailscale keeps every admin tool invisible to the public internet.
